A reminder about the importance of slowing to 60 km/h when passing a stopped emergency vehicle with its lights on.
It’s not only good for safety purposes but good for your pocketbook. Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan says one of their officers ticketed a car, for passing a stopped emergency vehicle with its lights on, going 109 kilometres per hour instead of 60 km/h. The ticket was $899.
The officer was kind enough not to proceed with a seven day impound of the vehicle for exceeding the speed limit by more than 50 km/h.
