Across Canada February 11th is known as 2-1-1 day.
2-1-1 is a free service that anyone can access every day of the year at any time.
Through a phone call, text message, or web search, 2-1-1 focuses on directing users towards the information they request, whether that be legal information, finding a family doctor in their area, or seeking childcare in their community.
The web service has been available since 2013, and the text line, phone line, and webchat were added in 2018.
2-1-1 Saskatchewan Director Kristin Nelson says since then there has been a steady increase in users, but the pandemic brought about a large surge in users and it has remained at that level since then.
The goal of 2-1-1 Day, is to spread awareness about the service, so people know there is always a reliable source of helpful information available to them.
