She was reported missing in September of 2020 and today (Tues), the Saskatoon Police Service has confirmed that the human remains located near St. Louis have been confirmed to be Megan Gallagher and the 30 year old was a victim of a homicide.
The Police Service thanks everyone who participated in the search for Megan, as well as members of the general public and the Gallagher family for their assistance during the investigation. Her family held awareness walks and has showed up for every court date for those who have been charged in connection to her death.
On September 29th, which was to be the first day of a four-day scheduled search, human remains were discovered. The Saskatoon Police Major Crime Section coordinated the search of the South Saskatchewan River following consultation with Forensic Anthropologist Dr. Ernie Walker and officials from the Water Security Agency. Back in September, the Police Service reported that they believed Gallagher was murdered in Saskatoon and her body was disposed of in St. Louis.
Nine people are charged in connection to Megan Gallagher’s death, including four people facing a first degree murder charge. There is a warrant out for the arrest of one of the accused. Twenty-four year old Summer-Sky Henry is charged with first degree murder, and also has outstanding warrants unrelated to this investigation including charges of unlawful confinement, aggravated assault, robbery and firearm offences. Her picture is below. The other three charged with first degree murder are Roderick William Sutherland, Cheyann Crystal Peeteetuce and Robert (Bobby) James Thomas.
Three are charged with indignity to human remains – John Wayne Sanderson, Jessica Sutherland, Ernest Whitehead. And two are charged with unlawful confinement and aggravated assault – Robin Tyler John and Thomas Richard Sutherland.
