Around 9:30 Friday morning, Regina Police responded to the 900 block of McIntosh Street for a report of a distressed male who had self-inflicted injuries and was holding a knife to himself.

Once officers arrived, the man would not comply with police commands to drop the weapon.

One of the officers on scene then deployed a CEW, commonly referred to as a taser given the man was going to cause himself harm.

The man was then turned over to EMS crews.
