Two cats died in a late-night condo fire in Saskatoon Thursday.
Just before 11 o’clock, fire crews responded to a fire in a suite on the 3rd floor of a building located in the 300 block of Kingsmere Boulevard.
The first crews on scene saw smoke coming out of a third-floor window. While the fire alarm was going off, the evacuation of the building was not complete.
Saskatoon Police assisted in getting everyone out of the building safely. The fire was brought under control at 11:38. One dog was rescued. The occupants of the unit attempted to put the blaze out with a fire extinguisher, but the fire was too large.
The fire originated in the bathroom and damage is estimated $325,000.
No injuries were reported.
