It appears an incident involving a porch pirate may have been an employee of a delivery company.
Being a porch pirate involves stealing packages from the porches or steps of homes where they have been delivered awaiting the owners’ return.
Ricky Novak, aged 38 years, of Melville, Saskatchewan, is accused of taking packages that were to be delivered to customers. He was an employee of a delivery company.
The thefts were reported to RCMP on Wednesday. A search warrant was executed by RCMP on Thursday where they say they seized more than 40 items including electronics and household appliances.
Novak is facing charges of theft from mail over $5,000, theft over $5,000, theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000; possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
Novak is back in court February 28.
